BOB Author Feature | Wanda St. Hilaire

Calgary author Wanda St.Hilaire has a penchant and passion for all things Latin and believes life is too short not to do what you love, where you love. And this belief is echoed in her writing. Through her writing, Wanda captures what real life is, sharing insights through her highs of travel and lows of illness and heartbreak, all while keeping her sense of humour.

A two-time breast cancer survivor, her most recent book, “I’m Sorry. It’s Cancer” An Exceptional Guidebook for Navigating Your Way to Health and Happiness, shares her harrowing experience in delving into the psychology of wellness and how to keep moving forward. While she walks us through her personal journey, she provides insights into preventative care, along with how to start asking the right questions for navigating their own journey. Her novel has been well received not just by readers, but by medical professionals as well, sharing this as a resource for those living with, or supporting someone living with cancer.

Other works by Wanda include her first travel memoir, The Cuban Chronicles: A True Tale of Rascals, Rogues, and Romance. Here, Wanda takes us on an adventure, experiencing the food, wine, culture, and most importantly, coffee of Cuba.

Ultimately, Wanda is on a mission to inspire people to tap into their inner guidance, living a life true to their unique and beautiful nature. So much so, that Wanda has written a series of Circle of Life cards, perfect for special occasions that warrant more than a card, but words of wisdom, support, and love the reader will keep for years to come.

When she’s not living in Calgary, she spends time writing in Mexico for inspiration and to escape the frozen landscapes of Alberta.
